North Korea may test another missle

News from CNN states that North Korea is contemplating a second (it is actually the third, but don't tell them) test of its ballistic missles. It is being reported that Kim Jong Il feels compelled to go ahead with this if the USA does not resolve the financial request he wants.

That's right. It's America's fault if he fires nuclear weapons into Japan or South Korea because we are so greedy and uncaring. I hope you can tell sarcasm when you read it. Just in case you are a Lefty, this was sarcasm.

Hey Kim, go to hell.

Liberians in U.S. finding way home

Since Charles Taylor was forced to leave Liberia in 2003, this sister country to the USA has been having small successes while trying to recover from decades of war. Here is just two of the amazing people with their own stories about finding their way back home.

Ciata Victor and Henrique Caine are doing this in their own way, but they have both returned home. Only Henrique has kept his home in the States with his wife and children, while Ciata sold her condo, gave up her high paying job and moved home.

They are both entrepeneurs. Ciata has started her own Internet Cafe, and Henrique is still working on starting up a construction equipment rental company. Please read more about these two people who miss their home and are now able to return. All with a little help from their friends, the United States of America.

News about NK and Missle Defense

There are two articles concerning North Korea. One of them is about a successful hit from our missle defense system, and the other is about the UN's refusal to grant any aid to North Korea until they agree to an audit.

It is possible that one may query as to if the test was to tell North Korea to back off it's thirst for nuclear weapons. It may also be to let Iran know that America is protected, or at least allow them to think so. Either way, these are both good news articles. Have a nice day.

Bush Considers Pardoning Border Agents

There has been a travesty, and Rep. Duncan Hunter-along with many others-are trying to remedy this. Two Border Patrol Agents have been sentenced to 11 years and 1 day (Jose Alonso Compean) and the other Agent is to serve 12 years (Ignacio Ramos) on January 17, 2007.

Of all the nonsense, they are imprisoned for doing their job. We should should all be afraid that we are losing our borders. Especially when our own government imprisons us for fighting to keep our own property, our borders, and safety from drug dealers.

President Bush may pardon these men, but they will no more plead guilty than apologize. They did nothing wrong, in my opinion. You enter my country illegally, you sell your poisin to our children, you take jobs from our children, and you are not a USA citizen. You do not have any rights guaranteed under OUR constition! How dare you, and how dare our justice system for prosecuting these men for shooting him in the buttocks. It's about time someone stood up to the plate.

US, Iraqi Troops Capture High-Ranking Aide to Sadr

Fox News has written an article about the capture of a high ranking communications aide to Sadr. The link is in their name.

Prime Minister Maliki appears to be ready to rid Iraq of all militias. I shall remain cautiously opinistic. If you read the article, you will find that it was the Iraqis who took charge in this fight with the USA supporting them. I'm proud of all our men.

Sevan and Nadler charged with Fraud: Oil for Food

Fox News has an article on the indictments of Kofi's son and another man: Over Bribes From Saddam's Regime. Sevan is facing 50 years maximum time in prison and Nadler is facing 112 years imprisonment.
Specifically, the two were charged with wire fraud, based on their depriving the United Nations of its right to Sevan's honest services; bribery concerning an organization — the United Nations that receives more than $10,000 annually from the federal government; and conspiracy to commit these offenses.

If convicted, Sevan would face a maximum sentence of 50 years' imprisonment. Nadler, who was also charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud by engaging in prohibited financial transactions with Iraq and violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, would face a maximum sentence of 112 years' imprisonment if convicted.
It is about time something was done about this. This has been reported about for almost decade. Sevan is thought to be in Cyprus.

The hands of Justice move so slowly, it causes one to wonder if it is truly just...

Nazanin Fatehi Cleared of Murder Charges

This is great news. Back in 2005, Nazanin (Iranian) and her 15 year old niece were attacked by some men who wanted to rape them. She did the only thing she could do. She stopped them.

There was an outcry because her niece and herself were sentenced to be stoned to death. It did not matter which side of the political spectrum you feel more comfortable. This is a no brainer. Innocent people do not deserve to die.

Maybe some of the pressure being put on Iran by the world is having an effect?

Somali, Ethiopian troops conquer al Qaida's last stand

The Islamic Court Union (ICU) who fled Mogadishu to go to Kismayo, this 'enemy of peace' has successfully been cleared from the rest of Somalia this morning. Hundreds of the Islamists broke away from the group to loot the weapons they left behind. It is being reported that they are headed towards the Kenya border/harbor.

So what is Somalia, and what will happen to it now? A little backgroung may be helpful.

Somalia was first given its independence from both the British and the Italians July 1, 1960. It was known as the Republic of Somalia. In 1969, a coup headed by Mohamed SIAD Barre ushered in an authoritarian socialist rule that managed to impose a degree of stability in the country for a couple of decades. (CIA's definition: 'stability')

This government was taken over by a coup in early 1991. There is no mention to be found about the USA's to feed the people after the severe drought the year before. Then again, they did say the UN stayed until 1995! HA! They were never there. Anyway, al Qaida started their group there, but they were not the first terrorist organization to murder people. In the 1960's, we started seeing terrorism from the PLO and Hizbullah. We are still dealing with them until this day.

In order for Somalia to reach any kind of semblance of national unity, President Gendi has ordered all weapons are to be handed in withing three days. This may or may not be such a good idea, since there is a possibility that the Islamists may be thinking of setting up a 'shadow government.' (Courtesy of Daveed Gartenstein-Ross at CounterTerorism Blog.) We must not take our eye off the ball, and it is too soon to celebrate. Today was, in all other senses, good.
