Bosun's Op-ed: The batty world of the liberal democrat: Durbin does not rule out censure or impeachment
What a wacky week it was. Senator Russ Feingold started the week with a call to censure our President.
"This conduct is right in the strike zone of the concept of high crimes and misdemeanors." Feingold went on to say that President Bush, "openly and almost thumbing his nose at the American people," by supporting and continuing the NSA domestic warrantless wiretap program. Feingold asserts that President Bush has, "repeatedly misled the public prior to the public disclosure of the National Security Agency surveillance program by indicating his administration was relying on court orders to wiretap suspected terrorists inside the United States." Being the top-notch interviewing reporter that Chris Wallace is, Chris interviewed Dick Durbin on Fox News Sunday. Chris wanted to follow-up with Dubin on Feingold's call to admonish and censure President Bush for approving domestic wiretaps. What Chris got was a left of center revelation by Durbin.Chris so eloquently worded the question:
"Given the fact that the president briefed congressional leaders of both parties, given the fact that he got specific legal authorization for this program from the attorney general, do you flatly disavow the idea of censuring the president?." After much discussion, Durbin indicated that it is too early to tell if either censure or impeachment of Bush would be appropriate. "I can't rule anything out until the investigation is complete. I don't want to prejudge it...... if this president or any president violates the law, he has to be held accountable." Source Fox News Sunday March 19, 2006
Folks, Durbin has a history of hating our President and acting out in a rash manner. Let us go back to January 2006, when Durbin was ranting about the Patriot Act and NSA wiretapping. Durbin wanted to overhaul the Patriot Act and called the NSA wiretap program unconstitutional. Guess Durbin has not changed his position and now openly shows his dismay toward our wartime President.
Durbin apparently believes that the NSA warrantless wiretap program centers on the FISA court. Durbin contends that FISA is the end all saves all to protect the American Public. Source Fox News Sunday archives
My thought on this matter is, if a lunatic terrorist in a cave along the Pakistan - Afghanistan border, or for that matter in a hotel in Singapore, Malaysia, London, Berlin, Paris, or any other city is talking with someone inside the United States, it would be a crime not to listen in.
Mark my words, as Durbin becomes a stronger Presidential contender, he will take on the chameleonic approach that he is pro-national security and hard on terrorism. In reality, Durbin is about as far away as a left leaning liberal could be. Right now, Durbin is like an old bloodhound on a trail of an adversary, President Bush. Durbin will not stop until he has gotten our President or until the world of public opinion and polls show him that it is inappropriate. These wacky Dems have no common sense.
I am thinking, "Was Feingold's opening salvo of censure last week not just the tip of a spear of hate from left leaning Democrats?" Did Feingold fire for effect? Or, was it a positioning shot as the Dems try to zero in on President Bush.
Believe me folks, hatred runs so deep against our President by the left wing. I fear that Durbin would be willing to cut off his nose in spite of his face. And, his left leaning cronies seem to follow suite. We can expect more left wing positioning and plotting in the months to come.
When are these Dems going to figure out who is the real enemy of America, instead of hating our President?
