FBI Arrests VP's Aid on Espionage

Leandro Aragoncillo, 46, was a U.S. Marine most recently assigned to the staff of Vice President Dick Cheney. He is a naturalized citizen from the Philippines, and he worked there unnoticed for almost 3 years. He was already working in the White House as Al Gore's staff member.
Officials say the classified material, which Aragoncillo stole from the vice president's office, included damaging dossiers on the president of the Philippines. He then passed those on to opposition politicians planning a coup in the Pacific nation.
He had also worked at the FBI's intelligence office in Fort Monmouth, N.J.

He was arrested last month on charges of downloading over 100 FBI classified files and e-mailing them to who knows who! Since the arrest, he has been cooperating. He has admitted to spying.
