Capitol of Somalia Re-Captured!

Ethiopian and Somalian Troops have moved into Mogadishu today, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2006, forcing the Islamic Court Union to flee. They have eliminated over 2000 al Qaida enemies, and now they will go to the southern part of Somalia to wipe out the whole lot of them.

In the mean time, there is celebration in the streets of Somalia. This only proves to the world that the reporting on these remote places cannot depend on the news being given them by the enemy. I only hope the AP would learn this lesson...again.

Update: Bill Roggio at The Fourth Rail has written a wonderful article with more insight into this situation. Don't get too excited yet about the fall of the ICU. They may be going after another insurgency strategy. Hat-tip to Daveed Gartenstein-Ross who has also written a fine article.
